My Profile
Debra A. Mills
Currently I live in beautiful Oregon with my youngest
son. My middle son just returned home from the U.S. Army to help out. I fell
in love with Oregon because of the abundance of trees and nature, the wonderful,
friendly people, and the serene, peaceful feeling it gave me being here.
I am a forest person; I feel a strong kinship with the solitude of tall evergreens,
redwoods, and the babble of trickling streams.
I work as a customer service representative and
designer for Design-her
Gals. I love the work that I'm doing, as it allows
me to be a stay-at-home mom. I have multiple illnesses which prevent me from
being able to work outside the home and to continue my career in teaching.
Someday, I do hope to finish my thesis and obtain my M.A. in Education.
I am also a Graphic Artist and Web Designer. I've
spent years working as a graphic artist for local advertising newspapers, as
well as independant web design for a number of local businesses, including
my own. A few years back
I designed the cover art for a novel by a local artist. I do some freelancing
here and there as the opportunities arise. I have been delving quite seriously
into creating art - Photomanipulations. You can see my art at http://healersmoon.deviantart.com
Beadworking is my creative outlet, as well as
knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and other types of crafts. But working
with beads, especially the wonderful colors, gives me a sense of peace and
well-being. Creating beautiful beaded art for others is my passion. I've been
beadworking for about 15 years now and not a day goes by that I don't have
my hands in some type of beadwork. Typically I sell online through the website
and through etsy. Occasionally, I will sell at powwows and craft fairs.
I am a single parent of three wonderful boys.
My oldest son is married and lives in the next town; my middle son and my youngest,
live at home. My youngest is academically gifted and quite a challenge in parenting!
My hobbies include reading, computers, video gaming, camping, and of course...beadworking!
